Who are the Individuals Categorized as Al-Masakin?

In Islam, Al-Masakeen refers to those in severe financial distress. 

They are among the eligible recipients of Zakat, a compulsory form of charity aimed at reducing poverty and supporting those in need.

Characteristics of Al-Masakeen:

• They live in extreme poverty with little to no income.
• They lack necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter.
• They have lost their means of livelihood and struggle to survive.
• They face hardship without sufficient resources to meet their daily needs.

Note: If you cannot find al-masakeen near your home, you may give Zakat to its administrator, classified as Amilin Alayha.
