No, paying Zakat in Ramadan is not obligatory.
However, many choose to do so because charity in this month carries greater rewards.
This is the date when a full lunar year has passed since your wealth first reached the Nisab of Zakat.
Once your Zakat anniversary arrives, delaying payment without a valid reason is discouraged.
While giving in this month is highly rewarding, you are not obligated to pay Zakat specifically in Ramadan.
If your Zakat anniversary falls after Ramadan, you can choose to pay in advance.
When your actual due date arrives, check if you have paid the correct amount. If there’s a shortfall, you must make up the difference.
In short, you don’t have to pay Zakat in Ramadan, but doing so can bring additional blessings.
And Allah knows best!
