Muqadas's story

My father Ali Sher passed away, and my family is from Larkana.

I am studying ICS at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Girls Cadet College, and I scored 824 out of 1100 last year.

I am seventeen, in class twelve, and what I want is to build software one day, InshaAllah.

“I am becoming a Software Engineer.”

Questions

What is the Day Scholar program?

The Day Scholar program supports children whose education is sponsored at Pakistan Sweet Home, but who attend classes during the day and return to their own homes in the evening.

Unlike Boarding Students, Day Scholars have a family or guardian to go home to. Your $59 monthly sponsorship covers their education at Pakistan Sweet Home rather than their housing.

What does my monthly sponsorship actually pay for?

Your $59 a month covers tuition, books and uniforms, meals during school hours, and access to Pakistan Sweet Home's classrooms and teaching resources.

It does not cover accommodation or meals outside school hours, since the child continues to live at home.

How is this different from a Boarding Student or a Papa Jani Scholar?

Day Scholars sit between the two other programs. Like Boarding Students, they are educated directly at Pakistan Sweet Home rather than an outside institute. Like Papa Jani Scholars, they live at home rather than on campus.

How was this child selected?

Day Scholars go through the same verification process used across Pakistan Sweet Home:

  • Verified loss of father and Pakistani citizenship
  • Assessment of financial need
  • Panel interview with the child and family
What facilities does the child use at Pakistan Sweet Home?

Classrooms, learning materials, meals during the school day, and any school activities held during class hours are available to them.

More children are waiting

PSH is already caring for them. A sponsor keeps them in school until they finish.
