Frequently Asked Questions
About the program
The Day Scholar program supports children whose education is sponsored at Pakistan Sweet Home, but who attend classes during the day and return to their own homes in the evening.
Unlike Boarding Students, Day Scholars have a family or guardian to go home to. Your $79 monthly sponsorship covers their education at Pakistan Sweet Home rather than their housing.
Your $79 a month covers tuition, books and uniforms, meals during school hours, and access to Pakistan Sweet Home's classrooms and teaching resources.
It does not cover accommodation or meals outside school hours, since the child continues to live at home.
Day Scholars sit between the two other programs. Like Boarding Students, they are educated directly at Pakistan Sweet Home rather than an outside institute. Like Papa Jani Scholars, they live at home rather than on campus.
Day Scholars go through the same verification process used across Pakistan Sweet Home:
- Verified loss of father and Pakistani citizenship
- Assessment of financial need
- Panel interview with the child and family
Classrooms, learning materials, meals during the school day, and any school activities held during class hours are available to them.
