The Papa Jani Scholarship Program is a monthly education sponsorship program run by Pakistan Sweet Home and managed by Parwaaz. It supports orphan students who are already enrolled in schools, colleges, and universities across Pakistan but cannot afford to continue their education.

When PSH identifies a deserving scholar, we do not wait for a donor. We start paying their fees immediately from our general fund. The scholar's profile then goes live so donors can find them and take over the monthly commitment.

Unlike our residential sponsorship program, these scholars live at home with their families. Your contribution goes directly toward their school or university fees.

Your monthly contribution covers this scholar's education fees. The amount varies by their level of study:

• School students (Class 6 to 10): approximately PKR 15,000 per month
• College students (Class 11 to 12): approximately PKR 30,000 per month
• University students: approximately PKR 50,000 per month

PSH pays fees directly to the institution by cheque. No cash is ever given to the student or family.

About the surplus: school fees vary by institution and change year to year. PSH collects a fixed monthly amount from donors to keep things simple. The actual fee paid to the school is visible on the challan and bank receipt uploaded to our system. If your contribution exceeds the actual fee in a given month, the surplus goes into the general fund that covers unsponsored scholars and other PSH children and programs.

Approximately 90% of your contribution goes directly to this scholar's education. The remaining 10% covers salaries, administrative costs, and outreach that keeps the program running.

No. Scholars in this program live at home with their families. They are orphan students who have lost their father and are enrolled in school or university but need financial support to continue. PSH supports their education, not their housing.

If you would like to sponsor a child who lives and studies at a PSH campus, you can do that separately through our residential sponsorship program. Monthly amounts vary by program:

• Boarding school students: $99 per month
• Day scholars: $79 per month
• Cadet college students: $149 per month
• University students (PSH alumni in external hostels): $149 per month

Every scholar in this program went through a rigorous selection process:

• Verified loss of father and Pakistani citizenship
• Currently enrolled in Class 6 or above, or at university
• Minimum 80% result in their most recent exam
• Submitted a personal statement
• Passed a panel interview

We only select students who demonstrate both financial need and academic commitment.

Pakistan Sweet Home supports orphan children in several different ways. Here is how they compare.

Residential students, three types: PSH provides everything.

• Boarding students ($99/month): live full time at a PSH campus. PSH covers food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and education. These children have no family home to go back to.
• Cadet college students ($149/month): enrolled at a cadet college affiliated with PSH. The higher cost reflects the structured military-style education and boarding fees at the cadet institution.
• Day scholars ($79/month): attend school during the day but return home in the evenings. PSH covers their education, meals during school hours, and other support.

Papa Jani Scholars: PSH covers fees only. School scholars (Class 6 to 10) live at home with their family and PSH pays their school fees directly, approximately PKR 15,000 per month. College scholars (Class 11 to 12) live at home, with fees of approximately PKR 30,000 per month. University scholars live at home or in an approved external hostel, with fees of approximately PKR 50,000 per month.

The key difference is simple: residential students have no home and need PSH to provide everything. Scholars have a family home and just need their education costs covered so they do not drop out.

All of these children are orphans who have lost their father. The type of support they need is different. Your sponsorship goes directly to whichever program the child you choose is enrolled in.

Every fee payment is fully documented and visible. Here is what happens:

• PSH raises a cheque payable directly to the institution
• The cheque is submitted to the bank
• The bank issues a deposit receipt
• That receipt is uploaded to the PSH system

You can see the actual fee challan and bank receipt in your donor dashboard. The challan shows the institution name, the amount due, and the period it covers. The receipt confirms payment was made.

You will also see the actual fee amount versus your monthly contribution. If you are contributing PKR 30,000 and the institution's fee that month is PKR 25,000, both figures are visible. The PKR 5,000 difference goes into the general fund that PSH uses to cover unsponsored scholars and other children in need.

This transparency is intentional. PSH believes donors have a right to see exactly where their money goes, down to the receipt.

Yes. You will receive updates through your donor dashboard and by email:

• Result cards: every time this scholar submits their result for a fee payment, you can see it in your dashboard, the same result card the Scholar Relations Officer verifies before approving payment
• Payment confirmations: every time a fee is paid on this scholar's behalf, you receive a notification with the amount, period, institution, and bank receipt
• Progress updates: the Scholar Relations Officer posts a short update periodically, such as a new result, an achievement, or a milestone, and you receive an email

You will not receive daily or weekly updates, but you will always know how this scholar is doing academically and that their fees are being paid.

Yes. You can leave a message for the scholar through your donor dashboard. Your message will be reviewed by PSH before it is shared with the scholar and their family.

Direct contact details are not shared in either direction, to protect the scholar's privacy and safety.

Donor-scholar meetings are arranged on a case by case basis. If you would like to meet the scholar you are sponsoring, please contact us at admissions@pakistansweethome.org.pk and we will discuss what is possible.

Any meeting would be arranged at a PSH campus or in a supervised setting, with the scholar's and family's consent.

Absolutely. You can sponsor as many scholars as you wish. Each scholar has a separate profile and separate sponsorship. You will receive individual updates for each one.

Some donors sponsor an entire class level, for example, all university scholars in one city. If you are interested in a group or cohort sponsorship, contact us to discuss.

Scholars must maintain a minimum of 80% in their results to continue in the program. This is agreed upon in their scholarship agreement before they join.

If a scholar's grades drop below the threshold, PSH will:

• Contact the scholar to understand the reason
• Conduct a formal performance review
• Consider context such as illness, bereavement, or family crisis

If you are sponsoring this specific scholar, PSH may reach out to ask if you are willing to give them another chance. This is always your choice. If a scholar is removed from the program, PSH will match you with another scholar who needs support.

Scholarship cancellation for poor performance is a last resort, not a first response. Every case is reviewed on its own merits.

When a scholar completes their education, their scholarship naturally concludes. PSH notifies you, thanks you for your support, and gives you the option to sponsor a new scholar.

Scholars who complete the program become part of the PSH alumni network. We track their progress and share their success stories as proof of the program's impact.

You can stop your sponsorship at any time. We ask for 30 days' notice.

The scholar will not lose their place. PSH started paying this scholar's fees before you came on board and will continue from the general fund if needed while a new sponsor is found. Your decision will never result in a child dropping out of school.

PSH will post the scholar's profile back to the website and actively work to find a replacement donor. In the meantime, surplus funds from other donors' contributions cover the gap. This is exactly what that pool is for.

No. This scholar is already in school and their fees are already being paid by PSH. We do not wait for a donor before we help a child.

When PSH identifies a deserving scholar, we onboard them immediately and begin covering their fees from our general fund. We then list them on the website so a donor can take over the monthly commitment.

When you sponsor this scholar, two things happen:

• Your monthly contribution takes over from PSH's general fund, directly covering this child's fees going forward
• The general fund money that was going to this scholar is freed up to onboard the next scholar on our waiting list

In other words: you are not just helping one child. You are enabling PSH to say yes to the next child who is waiting.

PSH currently has scholars on the waiting list whose fees we cannot yet commit to covering. Every sponsorship that comes in moves that list forward.

The Papa Jani Scholarship Program is structured to be Zakat-compliant. Orphan students in financial need receiving direct educational support is a widely accepted category for Zakat.

We recommend you consult your own Islamic scholar for a personal ruling. PSH can provide documentation of the scholar's circumstances and how funds are used if required for your Zakat calculation.

Yes. We offer cohort sponsorship for companies and organisations. You can sponsor a defined group of scholars, for example, all university students in Lahore, or all female scholars in the program.
