Frequently Asked Questions
About the program
The Boarding Student program is a full residential sponsorship run by Pakistan Sweet Home. It supports orphan children who have lost their father and have no family home to return to.
These children live at a Pakistan Sweet Home campus full time. PSH provides everything: housing, food, clothing, education and healthcare. Your monthly sponsorship of $99 covers this in full.
Unlike the Papa Jani Scholarship Program, this is not a fees-only arrangement. Boarding students depend on PSH for their entire upbringing, not just their education.
Your $99 a month covers a child's complete residential life at Pakistan Sweet Home, including accommodation, three meals a day, tuition, books and uniforms, and routine medical care.
As with the Papa Jani program, a portion of your contribution supports the administrative and outreach costs that keep Pakistan Sweet Home running. The majority goes directly toward this child's care.
Yes. Boarding students reside on campus year round rather than returning to a family home after school. This is what distinguishes them from Day Scholars and from Papa Jani Scholars, both of whom live at home.
Boarding students go through the same rigorous selection process used across Pakistan Sweet Home:
- Verified loss of father and Pakistani citizenship
- No viable family home or guardian able to provide for the child
- Assessment of financial need
- Panel interview with the child and any surviving family
Dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, an on-site health clinic, and recreational spaces are all part of daily campus life for boarding students.
Your impact
Yes. You will be updated twice a month through your donor dashboard, covering the child's academic progress, health, and general wellbeing.
Regular progress reports and health updates show how your support is shaping the child's education and day-to-day life on campus.
Yes. Letters and gifts can be exchanged through the Pakistan Sweet Home team. As with the Papa Jani program, all messages are reviewed before being passed along, and direct contact details are not shared, to protect the child's privacy and safety.
Yes. Campus visits can be arranged with prior notice through admissions@pakistansweethome.org.pk.
Yes, you are welcome to sponsor as many children as you would like. Each child has a separate profile and separate updates.
Accountability & trust
You can stop your sponsorship at any time. We ask for 30 days' notice.
The child will not lose their place: Pakistan Sweet Home continues covering their care from the general fund while a new sponsor is found.
When a boarding student finishes their schooling, PSH supports their transition, whether that means further education, vocational training, or independent living. Many go on to join the Pakistan Sweet Home alumni network.
The Boarding Student program supports orphan children with no home of their own, a widely accepted category for Zakat.
We recommend consulting your own Islamic scholar for a personal ruling, and PSH can provide documentation if required.
Yes. Cohort sponsorship is available for companies and organisations. Contact us at admissions@pakistansweethome.org.pk to discuss a corporate arrangement.
